About the event
From 1998-2007, Paul performed as a founding member of the CT-based duo (later trio) Bookends; from 2009-2018, he was a lead vocalist, stand-up bass player, guitarist, and banjoist for the popular Metro DC-area band, Silver Strings MD. Paul’s expressive vocals and combined Elizabeth Cotton/Merle Travis/Maybelle Carter-style fingerpicking cover of a wide array of traditional and contemporary folk artists—from Stephen Foster, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, and Tom Paxton, to Bill Staines, Nanci Griffith, John McCutcheon, Carrie Newcomer, and Townes Van Zandt. His usually topical originals feature clever, well-crafted, and often humorous lyrics (see: The Ballad of Doug Hughes).
$10/pp. Free parking is readily available along adjacent Lyme Street. Refreshments will be available. Seating is limited: advance ticket purchase recommended.
